Principal’s Message
Dear Prestwood Families,
Fall is definitely approaching, and with comes one of the most important times you will spend at Prestwood School. Not the Halloween Fair or Parade, Parent –Teacher Conferences whichwill be held from October 27-31. During that entire week we will be following the Wednesday Schedule, Students are dismissed at 12:55. Please make sure your child is picked up on time!
Before the Conference:
· Ask your child, What do you like best about school?” Is there anything you would like me to talk to your teacher about? Are you having trouble with any subject?
· Make a list of a few important things you would like to share with the teacher about your child. Your questions might consist of the following:
1. How is my child doing in class, especially in reading and mathematics?
2. What are his best subjects?
3. How is my child doing socially?
4. Are there any areas where she needs extra help?
5. How much time should my child spend on homework?
6. When and where does homework get turned in?
7. What can I do at home to help?

1. Please be on time. Each parent is only allocated a certain amount of time, and you want to make sure that your questions are answered.
2. Ask the above questions, and if you are not sure you understand, ask for examples.
3. Share some things about your child to help the teacher get to know him or her better.
4. Ask the teacher the best way to stay in touch, and when is a good time to talk.
· After the Conference:
1. Talk to your child.
2. Try the home activities if the teacher has suggested some.
3. Make sure the teacher knows how to reach you, and ask for updates about your child’s progress, if necessary.
Pleadings and Reminders
We have a “No Left Turn” sign as you go out of the circle. Please respect the sign, it will help the traffic tremendously.
Please do not park in the circle during drop off or pick up times.
