OTHER UPDATES

Jog-a-thon Pledges:
We raised $19.8k in pledges and have collected $17.6k.  Please help collect the balance of the amount owed and remit to the office by tomorrow if possible, or latest by the beginning of next week.

SITE Council:
The School SITE Council is a group made up equally of parents and staff. Every school is mandated by the state to have a SITE Council to oversee and write the School Action Plan and oversee the budgets that we receive from the state. We will have three openings for parents on the Council for the 2009/2010 school year. We meet once a month from 3:00-4:30 or 5:00. Although we have not had childcare in the past, it may be provided if members need it.

If you are interested in serving on SITE Council, please e-mail Principal Wolk at
bwolk@sonomavly.k12.ca.us as soon as possible. She will be glad to answer any questions you might have.

Escrip:
We continue with our Spring Friends and Family Campaign - the deadline to enroll and impact the rankings for awards is June 1st.

Our goal is to continue to improve the percent participation amongst parents in each class and to broaden the reach to friends and family (F & F) that are supportive of Prestwood.  An ice cream party will be awarded to the winning class in each category.

To date, we have approximately 30 F & F that are enrolled, with Abbott/Augustine leading the charge with 4 enrollees for their class.  The classrooms with the greatest increase in enrollment are Lobsinger at 6%, and a three-way tie of Katzel, Pipkin and Mellinger at 5% each.  If you haven't already enrolled or talked with friends and family about enrolling for Prestwood, there is still time to enroll and affect these numbers - to win the ice cream party for your class.  .

Thanks for your attention and have a great day.

Selma Blanusa
PTO President
